On 28 March 2025 at 18:00 CET (19:00 Palestine Time; 14:00 Brazil Time), BADIL – the Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights, the Palestinian Youth Forum (PYF), and FFIPP will host an online screening of the short film Tala: A Palm Tree from Gaza, followed by a live roundtable discussion and interactive Q&A session on Zoom.
Tala: A Palm Tree from Gaza (12 minutes) tells the story of a 17-year-old girl from Gaza who lost most of her family during the genocide and continues to preserve their memory. Through her journey, the film reflects the resilience and enduring spirit of Gaza, highlighting hope and the persistence of new generations amid ongoing violence and displacement.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with representatives from BADIL and the Palestinian Youth Forum, who will share perspectives grounded in human rights advocacy, youth organizing, and engagement with refugee and displaced communities. BADIL’s work focuses on research and documentation, multi-level advocacy, and community mobilization, with particular attention to youth empowerment, while PYF operates as a youth-led network supporting young Palestinians in refugee and displaced communities.
The discussion will create space for participants’ questions and reflections, fostering dialogue across contexts and experiences while connecting attendees in a shared conversation on memory, displacement, justice, and solidarity.
