On 23 April 2026 at 18:00 CET (19:00 Palestine Time; 13:00 Brazil Time), Badil - Resource Center for Palestinian Residency and Refugee Rights and FFIPP will host an online screening of the short film The Five-Hour Journey, followed by a live Q&A discussion on Zoom. The event will last approximately one hour, and the access link will be shared with registered participants by email a few days in advance.
The Five-Hour Journey (8 minutes) traces the realities of movement under restriction, following Palestinians as they navigate checkpoints, roadblocks, and enforced detours within the Israeli closure regime. Through the lens of a single five-hour trip, the film sheds light on the fragmentation of space and the everyday experience of life shaped by systemic constraints and territorial separation.
The screening will be followed by a conversation with representatives from BADIL, who will offer insights grounded in their work on Palestinian refugee and internally displaced persons’ rights. BADIL focuses on research and documentation, multi-level advocacy, and community mobilization, with particular attention to youth empowerment. FFIPP, an international network of students and academics, contributes to these efforts through educational initiatives and global solidarity work aimed at advancing a just peace.
The Q&A session will provide an opportunity for participants to engage directly with speakers, fostering reflection and dialogue across different contexts while connecting audiences in a shared discussion on mobility, displacement, and justice.
